Magazine topic selection idea and why I decided to use it.

NICARAGUA MAGAZINE PROJECT

I decided to select the country where i grew up as the idea of my project because of its beautiful touristic areas, my knowledge of the country and finally my connection to it. When introduced the magazine project I never had a idea immediately, it took me a week to connect my mid together and think of a topic with a good amount of content, but also maintain fun for the reader but also my objective was to transmit the beauty I see; so I started plans to travel over to my Grandma in Nicaragua and that's where all the inspiration started to sprout. In conclusion I mostly chose this specific topic because Nicaragua played a vital roll in my development as a person and I felt like maybe it could help others.

In order to develop some of my design ideas I used reference from google; more specifically I began a investigation on touristic magazines while paying close attention to each design layout. At first id di not like the idea of searching references because I thought it would interrupt the flow of my ideas but later on it helped me more than I considered. From some people who thought like me I recommend taking tips and feedback, using references is not always bad.

Microaggressions in films and how it affects my life.

What is you perception of this Pixar video, what was the message, theme? I think the theme was Stereotype or bias. Because we can see how the small birds treat the big bird differently just because he does not fit in, they start to mock him and then karma hits them and the blue bird starts mocking them. The message was we should not treat each other different just because of our appearance.   Where do stereotypes come from? I think stereotypes come from the social groups we create ourselves. It can start from our race, origin and sexual orientation, some people start by perceiving something different and that becomes the way they treat them. Stereotype can become hurt someone morally, were so used to this that we can guess someone's ethnics and even beliefs. A example of stereotypes can be the single stories, If we tell a story about someone even if its true it becomes who they are to society we have caused this by treating each other in a negative way and unconsciously beli...

Mise en scène Reading

Mise en scène is considered everything related to a certain film this includes its lighting, costumes, voices, actors and décor. During this quarter of school i spent time doing further research on why Directors use  Mise en scène and how they use it, I came to understand that Film Directors make use of this in order to convoy their message to the public and deliver a feeling of curiosity to the public, this can relate to Stuarts Hall Theory because there is something the Directors want us to encode. In other words the publics perspective of the movie may depend on the setting directors have chosen. Example of Mise en scene As shown in the image above this is a clear example of Mise scene use, the props, lighting, costumes and the chosen place may give us a each a different view on what's happening. By observing the chosen vestment I can tell this was trying to resemble a scene from the past and the props also help me...
