"The Crossing" and its cinematic language.

The filmmakers use cinematic language such external sounds, Musical tracks, tracking shot and the Dutch tilt to manipulate the viewers reaction. Starting the first scene we could observe the angle changes make us get a different perception of what the film is about, in this case it was suspense. At the same time the external sounds were giving a different environment to the scene, this includes intense emotions such as dreading because we could feel what was going to happen and what was present when  the angles started to follow the protagonist. The filmmakers also used a clean static shot to variate through the location of the scene, this also manipulates our experience through the film the angle of the monster was not very predictable and got me by surprise. The different angle shots mentioned affect the film dramatically, it can shape the way the film is meant to be told and how it is intended to sound, it  helps us engage with the film it elevates the audiences involvement in the film.  Without the environment sounds or the intense  music the film would be missing the dramatic factor. The monster presented also contributed to the viewer reaction of suspense, the way he as dressed and the fact we could not get a clear view of his face made it more mysterious.

Microaggressions in films and how it affects my life.

What is you perception of this Pixar video, what was the message, theme? I think the theme was Stereotype or bias. Because we can see how the small birds treat the big bird differently just because he does not fit in, they start to mock him and then karma hits them and the blue bird starts mocking them. The message was we should not treat each other different just because of our appearance.   Where do stereotypes come from? I think stereotypes come from the social groups we create ourselves. It can start from our race, origin and sexual orientation, some people start by perceiving something different and that becomes the way they treat them. Stereotype can become hurt someone morally, were so used to this that we can guess someone's ethnics and even beliefs. A example of stereotypes can be the single stories, If we tell a story about someone even if its true it becomes who they are to society we have caused this by treating each other in a negative way and unconsciously beli...

Does Gender Representation make Presence in Music Videos?

Girls Chase boys. The video clip girls chase boys by Ingrid Michaelson shows Men as back up dancers instead of women which is commonly used for music videos in order to break a form of gender stereotype. It achieves this meaning through the use of wardrobe makeup and choreography. I chose this form this music video clip because Ingrid Michaelson made it as a tribute or also considered alike to Robert Palmer's film because he used women instead of men, Ingrid Michaelson had a clear message of we all are the same and we deserved to be accepted as equals. In the music video we can see the back up dancer dressed and using makeup as filmmakers or the music industry would put on women. Take note the choreography plays a key part in gender representation because there is a form of stereotype that men ...
